rejetting - easy job??

do i have to remove the carbs from the bike?
can i get to them by removing the tank?
do i have to do a full carb strip down?

haynes manual says main jet size is #90 so if i go to pod filters should i go up to a #95 or isn't it that straight forward??

You could try the 95's, but if the only difference is the pods, then I'd try a 92 or 93 first. The rebuild kits out there come with the 92's usually.
If you have a 4-into-1 exhaust, then 95's should work. I found that sometimes you need to go up a size or two on the idle jets too otherwise the bike needs to stay on choke much longer and it stumbles until the bike is thoroughly warmed up. I drill my own. Larger idle jets are hard to find. Don't enlarge the idle jets until you are sure you need to, though. Sometimes it's not necessary. It seems to depend on the exhaust's characteristic at lower RPMs. Kerkers don't need it, but Macs need bigger idle jets.

It stumbles at idle as it is, although i figured that was because of the cold air over here!!
I'll try the 95's and see what happens, wont be until after christmas now though, no dollars!!
