Still runs great.I think it gets around 40 or so.The cv carbs are a big improvement on economy.

Brilliant, by the looks of your bike it must be a hoot to ride, I didn't go as radical with mine to keep the concept of a Z1R but there are times when I look at bikes like yours I have this itch to go for it. Then my wife throws a bucket of icy water over my head and I'm back to normal,,,,,,,,,, for some reason I don't think about sex after that either.
Just looking at your avatar your bike looks like its wheel standing already.

First Permanent ride the Z1R since Dec1977 (220,000km) as of June 2015
Second permanent bike 1989 FJ1200 dyno'd 140RWH, great bike.
Third ride is now the Frankenstein 1981 GPZ1100B1, 1983 fully recon motor fitted LOVE THIS BIKE
Forth my work bike FJ1200 1989 (same type as FJ above)

That picture got turned side ways & I just left it like that.I had the 78 kz1000 all original but the brakes & suspension was shot.I got the engine running good, then I couldn't get the bike to stop.It was cheaper to buy newer used zx6r brake & suspension parts.Than it would've been to restore the kz suspension & brakes.
