Vacuum gauges -v- Manometer

Does anybody have some advice on which I should use? I am thinking about a purchase for either one this winter as I have 2 bikes to synch this spring. (maybe more if this KZ bug keeps bitin'):S
I like the easy use of what the Morgan Carbtune Pro seem to be, and at about $130 delivered it seems reasonable. But I also see Z1 has the vacuum available for $50. Any help would be great...Thanks

I considered both but felt the gauges would be harder to read and compare quickly so I bought the Morgan Carbtune, and made a very simple adjuster tool. Very pleased with it and can synch the 4 carbs very quickly just using the gas in the bowls.

The only advantage one type of gauge has over the other would be the availability of mercury in the future if the set you are talking about uses mercury. I think mercury will become more regulated and not available as easily in the event it gets spilled out of a set of gauges as mercury has environmental impact. I think mercury gauges are the easiest and most accurate to use but we have stopped buying them because of the mercury concern. We now use non-mercury gauges with a sophisticated dampening system and they work about as well but without mercury tubes. The gauges we use are dial type gauges and pretty accurate.

wg,
I see that Z1 also has the dial gauge set with the dampers at about $185. Is that the system you use?

I got the dial gauges from jcwhiteny a couple of years ago for about $40. Looks like the price has gone up a bit.

Z1E and I both are K&L Supply dealers. I am likely using the one you refer to... it is a K&L shop quality dial gauge and not the one pictured in JCW. I use K&L Supply shop tools almost exclusively.
