OK, this may be a stupid question, but I'll take the risk.

I just added an inline fuel filter, and have it in the line so that it is as vertical as possible. The fuel fills the filter bowl about 1/2 way. Should it totally fill the filter, or is 1/2 about right? I want to be sure the filter isn't starving the carbs.

Thanks

And it doesn't matter whether it's vertical, horizontal or any angle in between, as any position is fine, so long as gas flow is in direction of arrow on the filter. :)

If you ever need proof of flow, just disconnect fuel line where it exits the filter turn on petcock and watch gas pour through and out of the filter nib.

Hey

Mine runs the almost the exact same way. I have mine sitting horizontal and the tube is only ever half full. Been runnning with no problems for about 4 months now. at one point i tried 'bleeding' the tube but it settled back on half full !

Even on older cars with a clear filter and mechanical fuel pump pushing 5-7 Ibs you'll always see it 1/2 full. It will only fill enough to get out the other end of the filter, no more, no less! ;)

Thanks all. I was hoping that was the answer. I didn't want to run the line dry on my way to work.

you have to have a air gap in order for it to flow, a pipe flows about 3/4 its diameter on a gravity flow, anything more and its a hydrostatic lock, nothing flows
