Jets?
28 Sep 2007 23:06
I am going to put K&N style airfilters on my 81 650 w/VM24 carbs with the accelerator pump... what size mains and pilots should I use? right now I don't have aircleaners and the bike seems to be running EXTREMELY lean, is that normal or does it sound like I have another problem... maybe the accelerator pump? I have already removed and cleaned all the jets twice and I still have the problem... Thanx in advance

You need to know if it's running lean. Check the condition of the spark plugs as they will tell the story by their color.

It will be lean if you have no aircleaner at all. If you use K&N pods, try #110 mains and #17.5 pilots and clip jet needles to 4th slot if they have slots. If not, leave them alone.
