1983 Kawasaki KZ750 Limited

My partner and I just bought a 1983 Kawasaki KZ750 Limited to rebuild. We rebuilt the carbs but now every time we start it and hit the throttle she dies. We cover the carb by hand. On the right side it revs the motor like it should the left side chokes it out. We switched the diaphragms and slides but it still doing the same thing on the same side. Any help

What make of carbs ?
Air filter - originals or pods ?
any other mods.... like exhaust ?
