Orange gas?
15 Sep 2007 18:13
While trying to bench synch my carbs, I thought I would take the bowls off to check them out as I had cleaned the carbs about 3 weeks ago. What I found was brownish-orange gas in the bowls. I cleaned the tank the same day with a 50% hydrochloric solution, then used a neutralizing solution to counteract the hydrochloric. I then rinsed it with an anti-rust solution. (this was done at work as I work for a plating company) Anyway, the gas in the tank is fine with no rust. Any ideas on the discolored gas?

If I remember right, the old leaded gas used to have a orange tinge to it, but unleaded looks more yellowish I think. Anyways, I'm thinking it might have come from the tank after I cleaned it..might have been some residue left over.
