You really need to just put the eBay auction ID or figure out how to do that link shortening thing as the page with the entire link is about 3 screens wide and almost unreadable.

You used to be able to buy an accessory accelerator pump kit. The basic VM29 has the castings for installing the kit. The pump kit does take some skill to install correctly; some installs I have noted have not been good and the pump will not work as it should. Usually, the nozzles are not fitted correctly. They need to be gasketed between the bowl and carb body and usually are not fitted where they are tight and they just leak instead of the gas going up on through.

Thanks Mark... looks fine now... I wish there were a handy link off the forum main page to explain how to do the shorty-link trick. I can never remember myself.

Sudco made an aftermarkete accelerator pump kit for the VM 29 carbs. It mounted to the intake bell where the air filter mounted.
I installed one of these kits on the Z-1 900 carbs. The mounting area where the filter is mounted is thinner than on the VM 29(on the 29's it mounted where the plugged air passages are and there is more metal to drill and tap), so I made a set of velocity stacks to mount them to and modified the accel pump mount to work with the Z-1 carbs. I havent tried these yet as I need another float bowl for the set.

The plunger is pulled by a rod connected to the carb crank(it can be seen in the picture). The bottom of the rod has a spring and a lock nut that is adjustable for length(that is how the stroke is adjusted). It uses the same accel pump diaphram as the VM series carbs and works pretty much the same way.
I bought a couple kits in New Old Stock condition and they weren't cheap. Sudco doesnt make these kits any more (As far as I know).
They will probably be put on a CB 750 SOHC.I like Kaw's, but I'm really into the SOHC's.
