i have a 1981 kz 550 and i recently had the carbs went through by a mechanic and now it wont start unless you put gas in the air intake, the bike runs fine once you get it started but i don't know whats wrong with it that it wont start, it started just fine before thanks for the help -Alex

What did the mechanic say that he had done to them as far as "going through them"?
78 650-C2, Stock engine, Jardine 4-2 Exh., 17-38 sprockets, dyna ignition and coils, coil wiring mod, carb mod.

he did a rebuild i had bought rebuild kits and and put them on and when i started the bike it idled at 6000 rpm and you couldnt turn it down so i took it to him and he cleaned them more throughly and thats where i am now
