The manual specifies a fuel level 1/8" below the top of the float bowl, but doesn't specify a measurement for the float.

It's kind of a PITA to do this though, you need to make an adapter to fasten a clear hose to the fuel drain in the bottom of the float bowl, then run the hose up the side of the float bowl to see the fuel level.

There is a maunal available for download at This Link that explains the procedure usaing the special Kawasaki tool.

The CV34 has a drain nipple. You can just put a 1/4" hose on the nipple and open the drain with the carbs level. Gas will fill the hose and settle at the same level as it is in the bowl after tap on the hose to remove air bubbles. Don't move the hose up or down once you open the drain screw. You bend the TANG which is the bit of metal that contact the float needle to adjust the amount of fuel allowed into the bowl. Someone has bent your floats up quite a bit so there isn't any point in trying to adjust the fuel level by using the FLOAT LEVEL method you wanted to try...

The CV34 likes gas at about 1/8" below the gasket mating line... doesn't like gas too low as the bike will run poorly with the fuel level in the bowl low.
