Carbs? was created by Youngerthanmybike
Hey I just picked up a KZ440A LTD from a friend of the family. After some work it would run but only on one cylinder until you got close to redline. I changed out the carbs and then it ran on both cylinders but it would only idle with the choke on. I took the carbs apart and cleaned them. There was alot of crap in the bowls and the float was sticking and one of the choke doors was stuck. So now it idles and runs without the choke but when i run at high rpms it starts to die and and makes this real throaty noise until I shift up. Then the power comes back until I get back up to like 5 grand. Any advice?

P.s. Im kind of new to mechanics work so simple explanations would be cool. Thanks

More than likely the carbs are still dirty. Did you take them completely apart and soak them?? Then blow all passages out with compressed air. You probably will also need to use some spray carb cleaner.
