later style vm28's

i have a set of later style vm28's that "had" an accel. pump on them. i decided to do the mod and remove the pump. i put different bowls on them. my question is...
when you mod these pumper carbs like this, does the float height stay the same? i have a set of mains (115's) to put in it. going on a kz900 with a 1075 kit.
