Flat spot at WOT 5-7K
09 Aug 2007 10:52
I am having a bit of a flat spot in my power band at WOT between 5-7K rpm. It pulls really nice down low and screams pretty good past 7K up to 10K but just seems to lag in that ~2K rpm area. I am only noticing it at full throttle though. My ignition is all updated with dyna s ignition, coils and wires. I set the timing on it as well. What adjustment on the Carbs would have an effect in this area. I am assuming it might be the mains since it is at full throttle. I have Pods and 4-1 V+H pipe and currently have stock pilots and 122.5 mains (I believe stock is 112.5). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are you using 29s? I have had the same issue
with them but not the 28s.Try lowering the needles,
you may have to go larger on the mains to get the
topend back.I messed with that for a while, got it
close but never perfect.I probably needed to try
some different tapered needles.
