Rebuilt carbs and put larger main jets 115 to 17.5 and kept the original size jets 17.5. The bike has 4 into 1 Basani pipes and a k/n filter. It was running reasonable well prior to the rebuilt. Have a major hesitation from about 28000 rpm to 3100 rpm and when i open her up she seems to be lacking power at higher rpm and I'm getting more than normal popping on deceleration? Pulled my plugs and noticed my #2 cyclinder is running rich? Cleaned it and leaned my air/fuel mixture (2.5 turns out) and put a hotter plug in and took it for a ride and it is still running rich? Pulled the spark plug wire off and i got a nice blue spark from the lead to the spark plug. I really don't want to pull these babies again. Any ideas?

What size mains ? I left a main out once and it felt the same as you described.

Trust the same floats were kept with the same carbs during disassembly and reassembly.

Would check service fuel level on #2 carb using clear plastic tube method (no disassembly required to check). The upside down bench method to set float height is only ball-park at best and notoriously unreliable.
Too high fuel level will cause over-rich mixture in an otherwise perfect carb.

And new pliable intake boots make carb removal and replacement alomost a pleasure.

Oh Yeah, Baby!

Also handy having an extra long phillips head to easily access the intake manifold clamp screws. And I prefer completely removing the intake boot clamps (unscrew and spread apart) before slipping the boots down and pulling the carbs away from the manifolds.

When reinstalling, attach the throttle cables just before starting carbs onto manifold, and a little silicone inside the manifolds allows the carb to slip right into the manifolds.

17.5 mains and i still have the old ones (115) all four so no extra parts...thats a good thing

Oh ya on the old floats. Cleaned them up and left the adjusting tab just the way i found it. Clear plastic tube method? Do you mean a clear plastic tube with a fitting on it that goes into the float drain plug? If so I dont currently have one. Is there a way to rig one together? Otherwise i will have to go find one.... any good places to get one? You know i did have some problems initially with the #1 and 4 carbs venting excessive fuel when i first got the bike running and all i did was keep adjusting the float adjusting tab till they stopped venting fuel.

After checking other messages i finally figured out how to do the plastic tube method on checking float level and found the #2 carb high so i adjusted it to the gasket level, but the @2 cyclinder is still running rich. Any ideas before i have to take it apart
