With the increased exhaust flow most 4-into-1 systems usually provide, you're also going to need to re-jet your carbs to accomodate that fact.
If unfamilar with re-jetting, it can be a PITA to get them just right sometimes. So locating another 4-into-2 system (or just a set of replacement mufflers if that's all that needs replacing on your bike) might be a better option in both cost and the "headache" factor in the long run.

There's a really sweet KZ1000 OEM 4-into-2 exhaust system on eBay right now that should fit your bike nicely:
