In my quest for getting more reliability out of the older bikes I installed the carbs off a zr7 (kawasakis newer air-cooled kz 750)onto my 1980 ltd 750. The swap was easy enough with just having to buy the zr7 intake boots. The bike has a 4 into 1 and will be running individual pods. I shimmed the needle a half a mm and rejetted the mains from 108 to 112s. Fuel mixture screw was reset to 2.5 turns out stock. The bike starts and idles perfect but absolutly will not rev past a quarter turn of the throtle or about 3000rpm no matter what I do. It will simply bog down and die (literally). I have heard of airboxes being the culpret but not to this degree. Maybe larger pilot jet? What say o great kz wise ones?:blush:
