critical float height? was created by arobsum
i recently went thru my vm28's. i thoroughly cleaned them and re-assembled them the same as disassembly. the ports are clear, no blockages. the # 1 overflowed even though the float height was correct(24mm). i raised the floats slightly and fixed the overflow but now when you roll on the throttle it sputters. seems to run fine at idle and low speed. is the float height that critical? could 1mm difference be that touchy? i also did the rough sync. on them, all slides appear to be about the same. i usually run pods but for the test run i had no filters on the bike. carbs were open in the back.

apparently the float height is that touchy. i put a spare set of carbs on the bike and it runs fine. definitely the 28's.
