kz650 questions

I have a 1978 kz650 B. I have just put the individual air cleaners (pods) on it, and have a few questions as to what to do with some extra hoses that are now not going to anything.

The big hose that comes from the front that went to the top of the air box; I have put a round filter on the end, and have it looking rather nice underneath the seat. Should I keep it the way it is, or plug it off?

The hose that came from the transmission, and did an "L" to the bottem of the airbox; I have a temporary hose running up to underneath the seat; can I just plug the hole off, or put a smaller filter on the end of the hose I was planning on buying?

Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure you can block off all the hoses.

You can't block off the crankcase breather, the little L that went to the bottom of the airbox. Either put a small filter on it or a hose running down behind the engine. Filter's best though, because you don't want any excess oil getting on your back tire.

The two hoses/ports from the valve cover can be connected together, or you can buy block off plates that fit on top of the valve cover.

If you do have these emissions hoses from the engine on top, you must have a '79 or later model, I believe. Or an engine from one at least.

Thanks rstnick I was not sure what the third hose was that he was talking about. With a 77 I never had to worry about that smog crap.
