turbo fuel pump choices
28 Jun 2007 08:17
In my on going quest for boost, I need a little more free advice!
So far, its a stock 1978 KZ1000A2.
1. the crank has been supercranked by falicon (on its way home)
2. APE main bearing studs (cases are being glass blasted)
3. MTC low comp pistons on the wish list(bored out to 1075cc)
4. Rajay carbon sealed freshly rebuilt (good deal of ebay)
5. carburettor: likely a mikuni hsr 42mm.
I'm getting the intake manifold from mr. turbo, the exhasut i may attempt to weld myself.
However, i need a fuel pump to keep the carb full. The original ATP kit used a Facet electric fuel pump ( a little 3 inch cube). 28 years later is there anything better? I know carb technology has improved, anyone have any experience with electric fuel pumps for carbs? how much pressure is too much. I'm looking at making 130 to 140 hp, i'll probably need a pingel valve to flow enough gas.
Once parts come home i'll post some good pics in the projecs forum. I promise!
