gas cap on 74 z1 900

well like a daummy i was in a hurry to put the new gas cap on the 900 the other day, and now i cant figure how to get the mechinisim that holds the cap on, to fit on the right way. Any ideas? thanks guys

well i tried a few more ideas that were no good. Does anybody know how to put the gas cap assembly back on?

i dont have my z1 tank sitting here,but isnt it held on with a pin on one end and the little thumb latch on the other to lock it down?

yea, how do u put the thumb latch thing on, i dont know how the spring goes on with the pin

well i figured it out, the spring had to be folded under the latch, it was kind of a bugger to do, but its fixed now................thanks
