carb adjusted

I have a 81 kz 650 csr. It takes about a half hour for my bike to completely warm up and idol at 1200 rpms. I notice when it is cold I feel a kick when sitting on the bike while warming up. I also notice that there was air spitting out the rubber around my carbs. Do you think I need to clean or adjust my carbs.

what do you mean a "kick" and which boots? air box or intake manifold if it is the intake manifold you need to replace them tighten the clamps or something, have you checked your timing
