2003 zr7 carbs or 1981 ltd carbs?

I have a 1981 ltd 750. The carbs on it are 34 keihn cv's with the chock butterflies. They work ok and are probably 95% correct. I also have a set of
carbs off a 2003 zr7, basically the same air-cooled engine design. My question is would there be any performance gain or reliabilty of the newer carbs. They are 32 keihn cv's but they don't have the restrictive choke butterflies. I dont know why they put the smaller carbs on the newer engine (basically identical)but they had to have there reasons. Any guesses on which would be better?

I'm pretty sure the carbspacing is different on the ZR-7, so you would need the ZR-7 carbboots too.

I don't think there will be a performance gain. The ZR-7 is rated at 76 hp I believe, so it's about the same as on old KZ.
