Gsxr 36mm carb tuning was created by jasbarsydvic
I have a set of 36mm flatslides on a 83 gpz1100 motor. I haven't got all the bugs out of it yet. But before i get to deep, has anyone done this before? I need a good place to start with jets and the air mixture screw setting. It has 155 mains right now and it seems to be running rich at all rpm ranges.

I've never rejetted carbs from scratch but I remember reading somewhere that you tune it a circuit at a time. Start with the pilot jet/ pilot screw and then work on the needle then finally the main jet circuit. Have you searched on google, or any other search engine, on jetting without guidelines or something like that? I'm sure there is information but maybe not for your particular problem and situation. Good Luck!!

I have 36mm smooth slides on an 1170. They're an aftermarket kit and were on the bike when I bought it. From what I was told they went straight on and didn't need any tuning.
I wonder if APE would sell a jet kit for your application?

Don't know i will check with them. I just know the motor is running really rich. I can't even find what model of minkuni's these are. I know they are off of a 92 gsxr 1100. They are 36mm flatslides. The main jets are 155 and i have no idea what the pilot jets are.
