vm24 is a vm24 right? was created by anarki650
Anyone here ever rebuilt the vm24s with accelerator pumps? I just went to get kits for my new project and the parts store didn't list kits for anything newer than a 79 kz650 (which if I remember correctly used the accelerator pumps on). Sooo, a vm24 is a vm24 right? All the needed bits should be in the kits for any of them right? I know the parts for the accelerator pump won't be in the kit, but I should get everything I need for the carbs right? I've already torn down the carbs and they look the same inside as the 24s on my 77 (sans accelerator pump), so I'm thinking I should be good using the same kits. Anyone know differently?

Oops!
I just I should answered you question, huh?
The K&L rebuild kits say that it cover the carbs on the KZ650's B1/B2/B2A/C1/C2/D1/D1A.

Thanks! I was assuming that the kits would be the same because the carbs look the same (minus the accelerator pump).

They do and they don't! I looked and looked but all I found were carb kits for 77-79. NEVER came across kits for a 80 model. Very frustrating for sure, so went ahead and got the "regular" kits. Most of the stuff worked EXCEPT, float bowel gaskets did not have passage for vacuum for accel pump, (found seperatly) new pilot screws would not work as mine has "air screws", other than that they are the same. Would still like to know why kits stop at 79.
