hi im new to the site and new to bikes. my knowledege is in my car. and lacking on bikes. I just don't know carbs. I mean I know how they work and stuff but I have never been good with them. I have a 1981 kz 650 csr. I want to put some bigger jets on. would it be stupid with out improving exhaust and air filter? or would it improve the power enough until I figger out something for the exhaust and air filter?

If it runs good, why mess with it? Re-jetting is usually done to compensate for an exhaust or air filter change or major engine modification. Unless your bike is setup very lean stock and there is something to be gained by rejetting I'd leave it alone.
