I have a 1980 kz550c that starts hesitating when I get to higher speeds, If I flip the choke on problem stops and bike will run fine but then have to turn choke off when at lower speeds The bike has sat for a while I cleaned the carbs out and cleaned up the timing advancer
(it was stuck and rusty) It has a header and kerker slip on, individual air cleaners on each carb Any ideas would be great
Thanks

My magic 8-ball says "Signs point to main jet size!"
Did you add the pods and header or did you get the bike like that? Well regardless, it sounds like she's leaning out at higher revs. Check the main jet sizes. If they're stock, you probably want to go up a size. If they're already larger than stock, you may have a simpler issue like clogged petcock screen or kinked gas line.
Good luck!

Ok Had a long weekend to look at it Cleaned the petcock screen and recleaned carbs while I checked jet size it is #100 I think orig was #92?? But then noticed that I can pull #1 #2 #4 plug wires and bike stops I pull #3 and bike still runs I looked at spark looks kinda weak. On those coils can you get a good spark for one cylinder and a weak spark for the other? Gonna try some new plug wires too
