I have an '81 KZ750H2 LTD that I have been working on recently. I fired up the bike and had a very high idle. I shot some starter fluid on the intakes and the idle increase on carb #2 (of 4). I took the carbs out and check the intake rubber. For cylinder 1 and 2 I could turn them with the screw driver easily. My parts bike engine required a impact driver to free the screws. What are the torque specs for the 2 screws holding the intake rubber to the engine?

I would just apply some BLUE loctite on the threads, and even a THIN layer of high-heat silicone to the faces of the manifolds, and just tighten the screws by hand until they're tight.
If You DO use silicone, let it set up for a while first, before You tighten things down. This way You won't get silicone oozing out, into the head.B)
