I remeber there used to be a post about some carbs that will fit the 1000 such as older GSXR carbs and more. I can't find the post now. Who knows what carbs will fit the 1000? Thanks

From a Kaw... you can use any VM series from 73-80. You can use the Keihin CVK34s from the KZ750 as well as the BS34s from any KZ1000J, KZ1000P and many KZ1100 models. From Suzukis, you can use any of their VM series carbs from the GS750/850/1000 or any Mikuni BS34 carbs from the GS1100. Someone posted that carb spacing is the same for the early GSXR? models but I am not really confident or sure based on no first hand knowledge. I think there is a web site that has some info on carb spacing www.pro-flo.com but a word of caution... I don't know if this info is accurate so do some double checking before buying!!!!

Thanks guys.
Hey Roy. I think I am a go for Mid-Ohio this year. I will see as time gets closer. Next time you are out this way give me a shout. Beer is on me since you always supply us with the hot dogs. I work till around 2:30 but lately it has been 12 hour days. I am doing an internship at a die casting plant. Pretty fun work. Today and Mon are holidays but I am here with a few guys doing some process development. Same with next Fri and Mon. Pays triple time so who am I to complain.

GSXR carbs pre 93 will fit. The Canadian 1985 GSXR 750 came with 29mm flatslides (non-CV). The link to pro-flow will give exact models. I have the 85 750 GSXR carbs and they fit just fine on my KZ900 head. You will need to change carb manifold boots probably. I am using GPZ1100 manifolds. I intend to bore them out to 32mm if I don't decide to splurge on a new set of 36mm flatslide Mikunis or even Lectrons.
