Choke Lever was created by gaillarry
Just bought an 81 KZ750 LTD with only 9,000 kms, in mint shape. The bike runs ok but on startup the choke lever has me confused. (Mikuni carbs)
When I put the choke lever on (up position) the bike stalls out, if I put the lever off (down position) it runs ok. Is this normal?

100% normal.
Only use the choke(lift up on the lever) when the bike is cold(first start)...however...some need the choke more than others,so You might have to use it,even when it's warm.
Eventually,You'll learn when to use it,and when to turn it off.

What EVER You do...do NOT leave the bike running with the choke ON,and walk away from the bike...the rpm's will climb, and You'll come back to a bike that's revving at 4k!
That has happened to a few Guys here(I remember reading about it)
Once You start riding(couple blocks),You SHOULD be able to turn the choke off,but like I said...You'll figure it out, just play with it,and Your bike will let You know the rest.B)

Oh and...WELCOME!
