Needle jet adjustment

Well, I have my carbs apart and I'm going to start putting them back together. My manual say's to put the needle jets at #4 on the clip. I have 4-1 V&H and pods. Running 110main and 17.5 pilots. Should I move the clip to the # 5 slot because of the exhaust and pods? Since I have em all apart I would like to adjust them now...

i usually put mine at #3, but then again i've never worked on a 650. maybe someone with a 650 will chime in!! good luck.

The manual say's stock is 4. I have them ripped apart and they are on 4. There are 5 slots, so, as a rule of thumb when moding the bike do you go down a notch for the headers and pods?
