Replacement idle adjust screw
03 May 2007 06:13
So my idle adjuster busted on me yesterday.. I was forced to make adjustments using the barrel adjuster on the switchgear! That was interesting to say the least..
The $hi77y part is that the idle is stuck around 1700rpm right now, which is a little bit high for my liking! :pinch:
Anyone know which carbs had a longer idle adjuster on them, that came out the left side of the assembly? My carbs are 'supposed' to have the shorty that sits between 2 and 3, but I have one that has a 90 degree bend in it, and sits just outside the number 1 carb, so that it's easier to adjust.
I'm close to just grabbing some aircraft cable, and replacing the wire portion of the adjuster, except for the fact that the cable may unwind when you unscrew.. :S
Halp!

Why don't you go and buy a bolt that would have the same thread size. Forgive me for I am not sure of what your idle adjuster looks like, mine is just a bolt that screws in with all the fancy handgrip and phillips head type thing

Thats definitely an option, but my bike's not running too nicely right now.. I guess I could just get used to warming it up holding the throttle open a bit..
I think the choke circuit is kinda messed up..though maybe I should just fix that instead!
If I can't fix the adjuster - yeah, I'll just get a bolt.
