NPT petcock torque?

How much can I torque a 3/8" NPT Custom Chrome Petcock into a Pingel adapter plate? It seem tight to me, but the lever faces towards the airbox and the threads leak slightly, even with teflon tape. Anyone have experience with these petcocks?

put a little bit of rector seal #5 on it then put teflon tape on it;)
