i have always wondered if you caould adapt a exhaust from a newer crotch rocket on to an older 77 kz 650, of could i adapt a "slip on" muffler from a newer bike

you can but it will take a little work. a few ppl here have done this with there kz's. one way i have seen it done was they use a vance hines or kerker header(collectors only)and have a custom midpipe like the new superbikes use made up so it will slide on to the old school exhaust were the megaphone would normaly mounts to the exhaust. the other end of the midpipe would to be sized to fit the canister you choose to use from a superbike. also you would need to make up a mounting brackets for the exhaust.

Try an exhaust from a ZR-7. There is a very recent thread regarding this setup on a KZ700. You'd still need to fab brackets, etc.
