Hoses
23 Apr 2007 12:48
Hey folks,
I have been tinkering on the weekends home from school and everything is almost ready. However, I have a bundle of black hoses on my 77 kz750 that scare me. They connect to various places on the carbs on one end, and no where else on the other end. Are these just breather tubes that need to be held out of the way some where? They seem to just be flopped down on the bottom end of the engine.

If the hoses are on the bottom of the carbs then they are the overflow hoses incase gas overfills in the float bowl. You can run the lines in between the back of the engine and the swingarm.

... and then they gather up behind the engine. There's even a rubber hose keeper - looks like a snorkel keeper on your diving mask - that the hoses gather into to keep them in place.

Also, if your hoses are looking nasty, new clear ones can be had at ace hardware, home depot etc for a reasonable price. They look sweet too.
