Flo-commander (Wireman?)

I've ordered one of these for my ZX9R. I freely admit I know jack shit about carbs and haven't touched one since I had a KH250 triple when I was 17 but it looks like I am going to have to get used to the idea (at least, until I inject and turbo this one :P ;) ).

The Flo-commander looks like it can effectively alter the size of the main jet by restricting the air circuit attached to it.

I'd welcome any comments positive or negative about this little gizmo and of course I'll post my findings. I want to tune the bike for a pipe, and I have another idea involving a blue bottle, but I'll get to that later. So, anyone used one of these? Do carbed KZs even have air circuits to alter?

Looks like they don't

The gizmo turned up today. It's basically a needle valve with 4 outlets. I'm going to fit it and tune it to suit a full Akrapovic system, and I have a sidewinder for later when I want to be loud as well as fast ;) . I'm also going to plumb in a solenoid and a small nitrous shot to be activated simultaneously. When the nitrous is on the solenoid will block the air supply to the Flo-commander, richening the mixture. Then I'll jet the nitrous to suit, on a dyno of course. Seems pointless adding fuel plumbing, and another pump, when the bike already has these ;)

does it replace the jets or just block them off according to how much you "tune" it? would you need huge jets and then drop it down accordingly? or does it make a small jet "act" like a bigger one if you want it to?
