carb mounting rubbers
12 Dec 2005 23:39
Hi Guys,
can anyone tell me where I can get hold of a set of GPZ1100 throttle body mounting rubbers?
I have an old set on my 650 but would like to replace them as I think that I have an air leak as hte MAP sensor gives different readings at idle from each TB
Cheers

If you're not adverse to using a little adhesive, it's possible to purchase reinforced fuel hose in 1 1/4, 1 3/8, and 1 1/2 inch ID. ABout $5-$6 per foot at autoparts store. You'll need a little adhesive at the top of each 'home made' boot because there is no ridge and the stuff slides if you just clamp it. Clean inside of hose and metal on intake and TB with a little MEK and use just a little weatherstrip cement and they'll stay on.
The weatherstrip cement is really tough to clean off so don't slather the whole thing... just enough so that it spreads out to 'dime' size is more than enough.
