do you have to remove the carbs to get the airbox off? any tips would be appreciated as i'm getting ready to remove the airbox to replace with pod filters the bike is already correctly jetted for. the p.o. wanted to go back to the factory airbox when he got the bike from his brother, then he couldn't understand why it was fouling plugs.too rich for stock airbox.
thanks
thanks

I'm not sure about the 900, but on the 650's you have to remove the carbs.

1974 900 Z1 modified to look like a LTD , some engine mods. But I still have all the original parts.

If pro is opposite of con, then what is the opposite of progress?

I vaguely recall someone mentioning that if you remove the battery box/electro bracket, that it provides a little bit more working room to be able to remove the airbox.
And like mentioned, pulling the carbs off is definately needed.
