1980 KZ650LTD E1

If I start this engine, cold with full choke, it runs well but if I try to give it any gas it "bogs" and dies. If I keep it running on full choke for a while (2-3 mins.), I can finally get it to run properly with the choke off. Once running, it runs great.
Now, if I start it from cold, with no choke, it runs great after only a few seconds of warming.
Any ideas?

Sounds like you might need your valves adjusted if you havent done them in 6,000 miles. Mine acts very simular and thats what I was told.

Sounds also like your running a tad lean or your choke circut is not working properly
