Hi all im new to this site but was curious where are good places to search for carb and airbox parts i just bought a 79 kz400ltd and need the back portion of the airbox

You will also want to look along top of this forum page to find the "tab" labeled KZ information, mine are green. Right click on it and select open in new window. It should turn to gray, then just under it and far left select filebase. Next scroll way down near bottom of page, not sure why it is set up that way, and select not model specific.
Now search to your hearts content.

I have a 1979 400 Ltd also and the one JR pointed out didn't look familiar. I checked and the part number for the 79 air filter assembly is 11010-5043 while the one shown for the 76 400 is 11010-1017.

The Ron Ayers site lists a price for a OEM air filter assembly, but I don't know if they have it in stock. It was pretty pricy (~$75.00), which made me go back and read the original post. If you're looking for the "back" portion of the airbox, are you referring to the air cleaner cap that the filter element fits into? It's the part you have to remove to get to the battery. If that's the part you're looking for, Ron Ayers had it listed for ~$37.

I haven't ordered anything from them before so I can't make any recommendations, but I am planning on doing some ordering this weekend in preparation for the Spring fix-up, so if any has any experience with Ron Ayers, please let us know.
