Two-strokes need the return cable (return spring is not safe enough). No joke. At wide-open-throttle, the two-stroke motor will no longer necessarily need a spark to keep running. The previous charge will ignite the next charge.
Incidently, I believe this is one reason why 2-strokes melt down so easily. When you run it hard, the ignition timing may become irrelevant since the charge is already burning when the spark occurs, often it's too advanced and will melt a hole in the crown.
