New coils,,, bigger jets?
22 Feb 2007 17:46
Hi all.
OK spring is coming to MN soon, time to start my restoration project in earnest! First up is putting on a new ACCEL coil kit to pump up the spark. However, in doing this, will I need to bump up my pilot and main jet sizes a step or two? Adjust the air screws a tad? I have a 1977 KZ650B1 model.

Howdy, barquirt -- new coils should not require jet changes or mixture adjustments. Good luck with your restoration project!

I swaped in a set of new Black Dyna coils and spark plug wires. No change in jets. BIG change in performance.
Best of success with you B1.

Same here, Andrews coils with Accel wires. Starts and runs soooo much better, no jetting required!!
