That explains it. It was milled because it was warped? If that's the case homing may be the only option.

Both cams self destructed. Just checked the journal diameter there are on the high side of the tolerance in the manual

I don't understand self destructed. Did it overheat, warp and the cams sized in the bores?

I put new bearings in when i originally built the engine, they were too tight i did not check the clearance. Ran it and the bearings and journals got destroyed. Im Starting over trying to avoid that happening again. FBG skimmed the head because its part of there head service. I never thought about the head being warpped causing the clearance issue

That could be what happened. Honing the bearings or couple won't hurt to get to .001-3.

So the honing seems to have done the trick exhaust cam is spinning freely now. Now to check the intake side. Thank you all for your help i appreciate it
