Engine stand or cart? for KZ1000

I just pulled my 1000 engine out. Bloody big and heavy. I'd like to put it on a cart/stand with wheels to roll it outside and do some degreasing and soda blasting before I take it apart.

harbor freight has a few but they look a bit flexy. I think i need something more stable so it won't move while I'm scrubbing/wrenching on it. Ideas?

I'm thinking of building some sturdy wood thing, but hate to spend the time on it.

buy a regular atomotive engine stand and build brackets to adapt,360 degree access to everything B)

If you are going to be pulling engines frequently then you may wnat to purchase somethng. When I have needed an item for a one time use I tend to build something to do the job.

yeah me too. I probably wont' do this agian for a very long time. too lazy to build it, too cheap to buy it - whatever shall i do? :blink:

nice! maybe I can get motivated to do that. although if I build a simple, sturdy cart I can use it for lots of other things later also.

nope, Honda inline 4. I think CB750, not positive. The dual carb setup is odd.

Here is what I did. Not as nice as some of the others already posted, but it worked.

I modified it from a harley engine stand that my dad built a while ago; didn't take long to make it work, but I couldn't get to the bottom of the engine very easily so I did that stuff while it was in the frame.

It's just one bolt through the lower rear mount and rests on the support in the front. It could be flipped up, but I didn't think the cart was sturdy enough to do it.

youre supposed to make brackets that bolt to the existing slots in the plate so its universal,what do ya expect its got a 750 honda bolted to it! :woohoo:

I found this table in my neighbors trash.Yes I was garbage picking...lol. I took it apart cause it was to long and cut it down and went to harbor freight and bought some casters to move it around.Cost me like $8.00 total.Not a bad score I think.
