Ok I know I'm doing somting wrong. I used ty wraps and my hands and all I've done is break a ring. So what am I doing wrong?

I'm not sure what you're doing wrong because you don't tell me what year, model, brand of bike you're working on.

If I ASSuME its a Kawasaki, then knowing how many cylinders and why you took it apart, and what has been done to it will help.

Maybe you're just doing it wrong, or maybe you have the wrong parts and it will never go together.

I'm installing a set of Wisco over bore piston set(1105) on a 1976 KZ900 The head is off a KZ1000 with a J head Wisco did the bore and supplied all the parts. I can get 2 or 3 cylinders in but am having trouble on the last one or two.

got some really big hose clamps?

Did you slide one of the pistons through the bore (without rings on it) to make sure it fits? Just checking...

Use large hose clamps or a special tool for compressing piston rings. You will need two since you're doing two pistons at a time. I would do the middle ones first thn the outside ones.

Well I got the pistons in and they move smoothly it just took time and a steady hand. Then I bolt on the head and everything stops at TDC the pistons are hitting the head. I haven’t put in the cams yet so I’m not or shouldn’t be hitting the valves. Again this is with Wiseco 1105 set and a KZ1000 bored out head. Stock rods and head on a 1976 KZ900. Do I have the wrong pistons, is there away of telling if these are for a J head I bought the kit 11 years ago and don't have the paper work. I have the arrow with the XC pointing to the front of the engine.

is your cam chain hanging up?if not pull your head back off ,leave the cylinder on and bring a piston up to tdc and see how much its hanging out of bore if you are using a j-head with kz style pistons you should have lots of room in combustion chamber.can you post picture after you remove head?

If the pistons are for a J head, they would be part# K1106. The J motor has shorter rods, so the J pistons have the pin holes lower than regular KZs. If you put them in a motor with a KZ long rod crank, the pistons will hit the head.

You need a spacer plate under the block. .040" will work if you are using a base gasket on both sides. You can use .063" with no base gaskets.

Has the head been modified to use on the KZ style engine?

I think I miss spoke this is a J block but don't think it's a j head where or how do I get this spacer.
