The oil filter cavity probably holds 1/4 quart or so. After having the pan off, it'll take some time to fill that empty cavity at slow cranking RPMs before the oil pressure switch is actuated.

Yesterday 04:46Couldn't you remove the switch housing and pre-fill the filter chamber ?The oil filter cavity probably holds 1/4 quart or so. After having the pan off, it'll take some time to fill that empty cavity at slow cranking RPMs before the oil pressure switch is actuated.

All good info.
Remember the only weak spot in these motors are the cam bearings. Which is why they are prelubed with oil during a motor build.
All the lower end bearings will be fine as they are rollers / balls on the crank and transmission .
If really worried loosen or pull the cams to prep the cam bearings with oil and pour oil on the cams and shim buckets ( Just a little on each will be fine )
Enjoy

I have not started my 1200cc Z1 since last Fall, since it has high lift cams in it I will pop off the cam cover and squirt some engine oil on the lobes and bucket tops before spinning the engine over. I never spin aftermarket cams dry as they are too expensive to take a chance with. On any engine I will lube the cylinders thru the plug holes before spinning it over.
On my KZ750 engine with stock cams I just spin the engine over with the plugs out before trying to start it. No need to remove the cam cover. I drain all gas from the carbs over the Winter and have been doing this type of pre start ritual for over 15 years.

Thanks for everybody's help! I've got it back together got her running, but she sounds like s***.
She don't sound like she did last year one issue I think is I put the pods on and it's running like crap I believe it's the pods I got to go to the stock air filter.
I got the boots soaking and wintergreen oil and alcohol it says that will soften the rubber in three or four days I will see and I will let you guys know.
But she's smoking a little bit out of the exhaust and I'm just concerned I hope it ain't from the new rings I hope it ain't from the new valve guide seals so my problem is I got to wait till the boots soften up so I can put the stock air filter on so I got a picture of the smoke maybe it's normal cuz it's the first time after a rebuild I don't know I didn't want to run it long.
And there's two bolts that I don't know where the hell they came from and if somebody can tell me I would appreciate it I will post pictures of everything thank you in advance

Yes, how much and how long will depend on the amount of lube you used during assembly

Until you have put some miles on it I wouldn’t worry too much- everything needs to bed in (I did watch the video)
