Experience with engine parts / piston kit from Cruzinimage in Japan …
31 Mar 2025 02:16
Experience with engine parts / piston kit from Cruzinimage in Japan (cast piston in oversized with the same compression ratio as OEM pistons). Have read both negative and positive feedback / opinions online. I take with me the positive from several forums where the piston kit has been used in many CBX1000, Kawasaki triple, Z1300 and several bikes where there are good experiences after many kilometers driven.
It is recommended to check the pistons carefully, check all holes, polish all sharp edges, weigh the pistons, in short, make sure that everything is in order as you want before assembly.
Also read that the piston rings are Japanese Riken manufactured (Riken produces OEM Honda parts). Does anyone know who manufactures the pistons?
Hopefully someone here has positive experiences with Cruzinimage and can share them here … www.cruzinimage.net/2017/08/17/72-76-kaw...pistons-set-66-50mm/

Ive used their rings in a stock bore. Worked fine. Most of these cheaper products do so by having lower QC standards so its more of a gamble on what you get.

Sorry in advance for this suggestion, but if you search "Cruzinimage" on the site here, you will see references to several experienced members here using these piston kits, and most all are positive.

I have to go the expensive high compession piston way due to my ported KZ1000J head (low compressoin volume chamber) conversion.

A lot of guys on the XS650 forms have had good luck with their piston kits but some have had issues with the ring quality. Not Sealing I guess but resolved the issue with better known quality ring sets. I have used IMD sets and have good luck with them but you will pay a bit more.
