If anyone's really interested, we have a NOS set of cam end plugs that have the vertical holes in them that fit... something. They're in the original blister pack. APE, maybe; don't remember. Pretty sure they're clear anodized. They're packed away right now in one of the storage bins of parts we're taking to to Mid-Ohio this year. We'll glance around, root a little bit & see if maybe they're on top in a bin or easily visible. Otherwise, we'll be unpacking the bins at the end of this month at the swap meet.

DV-o! That motorcycle is cleaner than my lady's bathroom!!!
The one she won't let me use!
I always enjoyed looking at it. Though, I never got into the later post 80 models.
Yours is the best I've seen! OEM with a touch of Class!
The "Gunsbluemoon" Seller started making CNC billet parts 20? years ago!
He started making cam chain tensioners and Z1 cam plugs then.
An Excellent machinist! He is!
I purchased his parts then!

Done my best to maintain the stock "sleeper" KZ1100A appearance, always trying to attract minimal attention...

Call me silly but why would one want to divert to "solid" end-plugs?? They utilized the rubber and shiny blocked cover for a reason and worked super well for years in operation. You'll miss out on rubber sealing that naturally comes with the original design, especially where the M6 bolt passes thru.

I've had oil weeping issues with the metal-faced rubber plugs on past cylinder head installations. The solid plugs minimize and potentially eliminate that, which also means fewer expensive cam cover gasket replacements.

The pure aluminum cam end caps made the cyl. head like a one pice casting unit.
Rubber can shrink or dry out, so weeping or a mist of oil could your future problem you have to fix with money, time and labor.
Just my 2 cents
