Hey All,  I am in the midst of some non KZ restos.  I am bringing back to life my original first motorcycle, a 1974 F7 175 cc Kawasaki enduro.  I also will be restoring an H1 500 triple two stroke once I work through the single cylinder effort.  Does anyone know of sources for pistons and rings for these two strokes?  I am not having much luck with the 175 on eBay.  I am hopeful there may be an aftermarket source that I am overlooking.   Please advise.

Hi Forest - IMD here in the UK do the H1 but don't list the F7. I think Mikaw has a contact for IMD stateside (currently showing stock od "std", 0.5 over and 1.0 over)

Forrest I believe the KE175 is an evolution of the F7 - if so KE pistons seem to be available

That contact would be Tom in Shepherdsville, KY. He's a dealer for IMD. Here's a pic of his shop, Really nice guy! Wheelhop has his PH #

Thank You Wookie and Moose!

I will be checking out to see if the KE175 pistons are an exact fit or I can bore the F7 cylinder.  The F7s back in the day were snappy quick bikes in their day.  This one is my first motorcycle and made a promise to it and myself to restore.  I am hoping to bring back to like new condition.   Moose, I will get in touch with Wheelhop.  He was recently out to visit me in my garage.

The H1 may have useable pistons & rings but don't trust the history to have been kind based on what I have encountered so far.

All I have to say is old weathered/rusted bikes are a PITA!  Just to get basic screws and bolts off make the job so much more drawn out yet strangely therapeutic.  LOL!

Been looking around on ebay. There is a .O.E.M. F7 .040 piston on ebay for 160 bucks. Found a O.E.M. F7 .040 over ring set on ebay for something like 59 bucks.

Not cheap but if you need it and nobody else has it...........

It also reads "OR BEST OFFER"   Make him a deal deal. Maybe he's a republican!!

Thanks Dr. !!!  I have been scouring eBay mostly through saved searchers for F7 parts.  I will broaden and refresh my search.  Thanks for the heads up.  If you happen to see this again and it's no bother, I would appreciate a link.   Cost on this project is already way over ever getting my money back.  It is beyond monetary value.  It's a promise I made to my first ever motorcycle.  Some might call me sentimental, others would say I/m just plain crazy.

The instockmotorsports does have a large inventory of pistons and ring sets.  However, none of the part numbers match up to my Standard, 0.020 O.S. and 0.040 O.S.   This may be why they aren't showing up on my eBay searches.

And so, the hunt continues.  I will not give up.

Better check your part numbers. I used the KMC site for the part numbers.
