KZ650 Bore Kit need Cams?

Both types of slides have a cavity on the bottom for the cutaway causing some turbulence on both. #6 provides a roof keeping it at a minimum. 
 
It doesn't seem to cause much of a problem with my mild street build with the 33's. 
I'd be more interested in seeing what kind of porting had been done. 
Something like this?
 
It can be all on or all off with the wrong kind of porting.
