Has anybody ever seen one of these?

This cover was on a KZ1000 motor I bought.

It does not look to be aftermarket, the back ribbed side looks identical to a stock cover. I was wondering if it might be a limited edition piece?
I have never seen one and wondering if anybody on here could give me any information on it.

I've seen them before but that's all i can say.
Don't know if they took new stock covers and added the logo or took a mould and made the whole thing. 

The "K" is cast in as it has radii on the edges. I believe the raised portion on that side may have been a insert onto a older cover half of the die, so they may have just had a different insert they used to make it - Small sample run??

Do you think it may be rare?

I am looking to sell it, I don't want to use it on the motor build I am doing. Just trying to figure out what it is and how much its worth.

The raised portion is the later MK2 style cover.
I wouldn't say rare as i've seen quite a few of them.
Don't know whether they are still being made or not though.
Value depends on how much someone is willing to pay.
Ebay auction will probably get the best price.
 

Maybe there are more in England or Europe, I have never even seen a photo of one.

The only other cover sets I have seen over here for 900/1000 are the ribbed ones.

Yeah, Ebay but I have not sold on there in a bunch of years because of the cut they take. But best place for this one I guess, may list it local and see if I get any bites.

I think I might value it a double the going price of a stock cover just because it is unique.
